GL Progress Tests Standardized Benchmarking Assessments 2026

Dear Parents,

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining high academic standards and in line with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) Assessment Policy, we would like to inform you that students in Grades 3 to 9 will be participating in the GL Assessment – Standardized Benchmarking Examinations.

These assessments are internationally recognized, standardized external assessments, designed to ensure reliability, consistency, and comparability of student performance across cohorts. The tests will be conducted in the following subjects:
•    English – Progress Test in English (PTE)
•    Mathematics – Progress Test in Mathematics (PTM)
•    Science – Progress Test in Science (PTS)

Purpose of the Standardized Benchmarking Assessments The assessments aim to:
•    Measure student attainment using standardised benchmarks
•    Provide reliable data to support data-informed teaching and learning
•    Identify individual and cohort strengths, as well as areas for improvement
•    Support the school’s academic monitoring and quality assurance processes as required by ADEK

Important Requirements:
•    Headphones: Students must bring wired headphones (minimum 1 meter in length) to enable them to access the audio components. Please avoid sending wireless or Bluetooth headphones.
•    Attendance: It is essential that all students are present on the assigned assessment days. These exams are mandatory and part of ADEK's educational quality assurance framework.

Parents will receive the GL Assessment reports by the end of June 2026. We seek your continued support in ensuring your child is well-prepared and equipped for these important assessments.
